I have been taking a little bit of a blogging break recently. Mostly due to my busy schedule traveling and trying to reserve time at home with my family. However, I wanted to stop in and leave a short update on what I’ve been working on. What tends to happen in my life as a writer is that I focus in on one sort of writing. Sometimes it’s blogging, other times it’s songwriting, sometimes it’s papers for school. At the end of the day I simply run out of writing capacity! So here are a few things you can keep up with me on as we approach the end of 2019:
new music
I’m actively working on new songs for the Church, songs of worship, with full band recordings! I’m looking forward to releasing full versions of Fourfold Gospel, You Are Faithful (Even When I Wander), and Holy & Anointed One to compliment the acoustic versions I released in 2018, while also getting a song called Revive full band and an acoustic version of a Good Friday song I wrote called Criminal and a few more that I’m working on and have co-written with some friends- songs called Until The Chains Fall, Because You Love Me, I Will Go On, and Reliance. Most of these names mean nothing to you who are reading this, but it does give me some accountability to actually complete these songs so I hope you enjoy getting a sneak peek at the potential track list!
Worship leader network
In case you didn’t know, I took over as the director of the Worship Leader Network, formerly known as the Omaha Worship Leader Network (OWL) at the beginning of the Summer. That has been incredible and it has also been a valuable challenge to my personal leadership capacity. Part of this has been hosting the OWL Podcast, a show highlighting worship leaders and tech directors and their ministries in the Omaha area. We’re about to wrap up season 1 of the podcast and look to launching season 2 in January- it’s going to be incredible and I can’t wait! With directing the WLN I’m also regularly planning and organizing events for music leaders, tech directors, and worship arts volunteers that keep me on my toes. Follow along with the WLN on Facebook and other social media as we continue to expand and edify leaders into the new year!
harvester worship
This is a new thing that I’m excited about that focuses in on developing songwriters and songwriting for the Church, plus empowering (and giving a platform to) experienced church songwriters. Not a lot to tell yet, but keep an eye on all things Worship Leader Network as these two entities will play off of each other a lot!
more blogging
As part of my “annual routine” I know that I’ll start finding time for blogging again here in a couple of weeks and through the Winter. I’m very excited about continuing all of the blog series- Faith Deconstruction, The Artist & The Gospel, The Gift of Art, and Worship Leader Strategies. You can look forward to seeing one of those four posts on a biweekly basis, alternating with the OWL Podcast when that’s in season, or on a weekly basis when the podcast is out of season.
traveling… all over the place
I’ll be documenting a lot of my events, traveling, worship leading, and so on primarily through my Instagram stories which feed into my artist Facebook page, so make sure you follow and like those pages (even if you’re my friend on Facebook, because I don’t post as frequently on my personal page) so you can keep up! I’ll be traveling all over the Midwest in the Spring and will be taking a trip to Atlanta, GA in January for G3 Conference as well; plus a new baby coming in March/April. It will be a wild 2020!
So, all of that to say, thanks for sticking around and following what’s going on in Camp McClure. I’m seriously excited for what’s to come the rest of 2019 and as we get into the future!

Kevin McClure has been leading worship in the local church for over 10 years in different capacities of student and adult ministries. As a songwriter, musical artist, and worship leader he has had the honor of touring the United States both as a performer and worship leader over the better part of the last decade. With a heart to see believers learn how to take the act of worship beyond the setting of a group gathering, Kevin is incredibly intentional with his time on and offstage to help teach the practice of worship as a lifestyle. Kevin lives in Omaha, Nebraska with his bride Hailey and his two daughters, Everleigh and Eliska. His favorite food is coffee (lifesource), loves bonfires, and is convinced that Jesus is a Chicago Cubs fan.
